Session 2: The Tap Runs Dry
Chloe Rogers and Big Tino left Needles on foot, heading east toward Kingman under a rising Mojave
sun. Along the way, they encountered a bizarre radio shack built from a wrecked school bus. Inside,
Chloe discovered a flickering AI core, broadcasting her name on repeat. Upon touching it, she
experienced a vision-herself in a Vault 207 labcoat, whispering warnings about something awakening.
Rattled, she packed the AI core and continued east.
At the burned-out water convoy near Kingman, they found Brahmin bones shaped into a Dustborn altar
and the water purification chip hidden beneath wreckage. But signs of a captive led them to press
onward, into a canyon.
There, they found a Dustborn shrine, guarded by four masked cultists. A bound NCR courier was held
in a ritual circle. Chloe executed a silent rescue with precision, slipping through the ritual
fire's shadows and freeing the prisoner-Corporal Jen Reyes-without alerting the cultists. The Red
Boneman, a Dustborn leader, seemed to sense her but let her go, whispering about "Signal 207" and
"the voice of the machine."
With the courier saved and the chip secured, the trio returned to Needles by sunset.
Inside the Waterin' Hole, Tess took the chip and handed Chloe her reward: caps, a room, and a
reputation. Big Tino remained at her side. And Reyes, still trembling, clutched a data drive
hinting at Vault-Tec experiments buried deeper in the desert.
Needles is safe-for now. But the Dustborn are watching.
